<p>One is to do research online. There are many sources of online information that will give you pointers and tips about natural healthy aging, and that don&#8217;t require any money to access. You might type in natural healthy aging in a search engine to find some of these websites.</p>
<p>Another thing is not to chase shiny objects. By that, I mean don&#8217;t just buy every supplement that is sold as being useful for natural aging. The reason is that it might not be the right thing for you. It&#8217;s better to take one step at a time and add one thing at a time to your regimen for natural healthy aging. </p>
<p>For example, if you change your exercise plan, don&#8217;t change anything else and see how you feel as you progress. If you add a supplement, don&#8217;t add another supplement right away. Let your body get used to it and then you&#8217;ll know how well it&#8217;s working for you.</p>

We have lots of food when we go to the store, when we go to restaurants. Food is everywhere. But, in reality, food is actually medicine, which means that some foods are going to be better for you and some foods are actually going to be worse.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s one way to think about that. If you have a car that runs on gasoline and you put diesel fuel in the tank of the car, it will not run right. Diesel fuel is a perfectly good fuel for a diesel engine but not for a gasoline engine. So if you are eating foods even though they seem like they are perfectly healthy, but they are the wrong foods for you, then you will not be feeding your body in a way that will make it get more healthy.</p>
<p>When you are aging, over time you cannot compensate for eating the wrong foods as well as you might have when you were younger. In fact, if the food that you&#8217;re eating isn&#8217;t the right food for you, nothing else you do is going to work as well as it might. Medications you take won&#8217;t be as effective. Supplements, vitamins, and minerals you take will not work as well. Your health will suffer over time without the right food.</p>
<p>So if you treat your food like medicine, your body will respond and get stronger and healthier as you age. That is my favorite natural healthy aging tip.</p>

<p>You are a unique individual. That means that there is no one size fits all solution to have a healthy natural life. In other words, each person is different and that includes you. How do you know what exactly is right for you? First of all, you want to listen to your body. Your body is going to give you feedback about how you are doing when you try different things for healthy natural aging.</p>
<p>For example, if you eat something and you find that your energy is stronger, better, you&#8217;re thinking more clearly, then that&#8217;s positive feedback. The best time to do that is about 1-2 hours after you&#8217;ve eaten. By contrast, if you eat something, have a meal and don&#8217;t feel better afterwards, if your energy drops, if your thinking becomes fuzzy, if you become cranky, that&#8217;s feedback that that meal wasn&#8217;t the right thing for you to eat. </p>
<p>Other ways to listen to your body have to do with exercise.  Exercise in a gradually increasing way as your fitness improves. Extreme amounts of exercise, especially at the beginning of an exercise program are not going to serve you well because they&#8217;re going to slow you down. It&#8217;s important to stay focused on your goals. Otherwise, you&#8217;ll never get there. People give up too early when they aren&#8217;t focused on what their goal is for being healthy and aging in a natural way.</p>

<p>Hormone levels decline as we get older. That means testosterone in men for particular, and it means estrogen for women, get lower. When that happens, our quality of life suffers. We aren&#8217;t as strong, as happy, and as healthy as we might be. It&#8217;s important to make sure that your hormone levels are strong and healthy as you age.</p>
<p>Digestion also becomes weaker with time. That means that you are not digesting your food as efficiently as you once did. To help correct that, it&#8217;s very useful to take digestive enzymes with each major meal of the day. Digestive enzymes have the added benefit of being anti-inflammatory, which is another factor as we get older.</p>
<p>Fitness is something that is very important as we age. Staying in shape, exercising, being active as much as you can for your level of health and fitness is very important. Simple things, like being able to walk up and down stairs, being able to sit down and stand up, being able to pick up a piece of paper from the floor. <p>For drinking water, the rule of drinking 8 glasses of water a day generally a good one. But there are some exceptions to that rule. For example, if you&#8217;re a larger person, for example weighing maybe 200 pounds or more, then you would want to drink more water than just eight ounces. If you&#8217;ve had exposure to heat or if you&#8217;ve been very active with exercise, you&#8217;ll also want to drink more water. You could drink up to a hundred ounces of water a day if you weigh 200 pounds.</p>
<p>Inflammation is a big problem as we get older because it causes many of the diseases of old age. Arthritis, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, all have an inflammatory component and in fact maybe caused by chronic inflammation. How do you address that? </p>
<p>You&#8217;ll want to take supplements that help reduce inflammation. You also want to reduce the causes of that inflammation to begin with. Supplements that reduce inflammation include enzymes and fish oils. Substances that you eat that can cause inflammation and you should be avoided include processed foods like flour based products such as bread and pasta, and pretty much anything that is packaged and processed.</p>
<p>The third of component of aging in a healthy natural way is to listen to your body. What do I mean by that? When you have eaten something that is not good for you, your energy will drop. When you don&#8217;t sleep well, you won&#8217;t have enough energy. So if you listen to the feedback your body gives you when you do certain activities or do not get enough of certain activities, you will be able to fine tune your natural healthy aging program.</p>

<p>What is this &#8220;use it or lose it&#8221; business? If you have exercised before, if you&#8217;ve been increasing strength, doing strength training, you have seen that you get stronger the more you use your muscles. It&#8217;s interesting that not only does exercise make you physically stronger but it also supports healthy brain function. It actually helps you think better and remember things better. &#8220;Use it or lose it&#8221; is an important aspect of exercise when you want to age in a healthy natural way, but you can&#8217;t just jump to the place where you would like to be, otherwise everyone would be an Olympic athlete.</p>
<p>You have to start where you are. Once you know what your goal is, you start where your level of conditioning is already. If that means you just walk 4-5 minutes, three days a week, then that&#8217;s what that means. You gradually increase the time. Of course, if you can do more than that where you are now, that&#8217;s good. Everyone will have their own starting point. And, because you want to age in a healthy natural way, you have to take a long-term view. </p>
<p>You want to make steady, gradual progress and increase your fitness over time. That will ensure that you have the ability all of the things that are the quality of life activities in your world, picking up children or grandchildren, being able to go out and enjoy recreational activities like hiking, or sports like golf and so forth. All of these types of activities are very important for your quality of life. So, use it or lose it. Start where you are. Make steady progress.</p>

<p>When you are improving your health no matter what age you are, but especially as you&#8217;re getting older, you have to realize that it will take some time to get from wherever you are to where you want to be.</p>
<p>For those of us who want everything now, like myself. That can be somewhat of a problem because we&#8217;re almost always in a little bit of a hurry. But, if you realize that it takes time then you&#8217;ll be patient enough to continue moving forward. </p>
<p>That&#8217;s where your persistence comes in. You have to keep moving forward. You can&#8217;t let yourself be thrown off track by setbacks or slow progress. It&#8217;s important to keep moving forward even if things don&#8217;t go as fast as you thought they should or you would like. You have to be persistent. You have to keep going. </p>
<p>The third thing to be aware of is that you will make progress. If you are not keeping track of your progress, you might not see it as clearly. You might make slow, gradual progress and that may be harder for you to recognize than if you&#8217;re keeping good track of what&#8217;s going on.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s really a good idea to keep a journal of how far you are, how much weight you&#8217;ve lifted, how much stretching you&#8217;ve done each day that you do that so that you are seeing over time how much better everything gets. That will actually be very encouraging over time. Even though there will be ups and downs, you will see general progress as you keep track.</p>

The first thing of course is to get a checkup with your doctor. The next is to have a plan for a good, suitable exercise program. The third is to adjust your diet in a way that is healthier. Let&#8217;s talk about each of these three steps.</p>
<p>Obviously, if you have health issues over time, health problems, it&#8217;s important before you&#8217;re going to exercise or change how you&#8217;re eating that you know where you&#8217;re starting from. That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s good to get a basic checkup. You want to find out how healthy your heart is, how healthy your blood sugar levels are, and whether it is advisable for you to do strong exercise or moderate exercise, or even just start with mild exercise.</p>
<p>For exercising, it&#8217;s best if you haven&#8217;t exercised for a long time to start out gently. Do not try and run a marathon if you have just been a couch potato for several years or even working in sit-down kind of job. Start with just plain walking. Keep 20 minutes or half an hour of walking at least three or four times a week. During that time, walk at a speed that you&#8217;re comfortable with. You can increase that speed over time. So, you walk farther and get more exercise but up to it slowly.</p>
<p>Now when it comes to your diet, it&#8217;s important to eat the foods that are whole, fresh and natural. The more processed and packaged it is, the less good it is going to be for you. If you can&#8217;t find it in nature, in the way you&#8217;re eating it, don&#8217;t eat it. You can&#8217;t find a bread tree or pasta bush in nature, probably not the best food for you.</p>

<p>They often find that they have less energy than they used to have. </p>
<p>They also find sometimes that they cannot think or remember things as clearly as they used to. </p>
<p>Another common problem is that aging people do not get enough sleep. </p>
<p>Fortunately, there are healthy natural ways to deal with all of these issues of aging. </p>
<p>First of all, if you don&#8217;t have enough energy it impacts your life in a negative way. As you age, having more energy makes a big difference. One of the biggest causes of low energy is not digesting your food well. If you do not digest well of course you are not going to get the fuel that your body needs. Energy levels suffer. And over time, digestion becomes less efficient.</p>
<p>To fix this, there are very simple things that you can do. A big one is taking digestive enzymes. As you get older you do not have the same level of digestive enzymes that you used to. Taking enzymes helps makes sure that you get all the nutrition from your food.</p>
<p>Enzymes have the added benefit of helping take down inflammation. And since many of the diseases of old age have an inflammatory component, taking enzymes helps reduce chances of illness.</p>

Don&#8217;t sit at the computer and look at the news of the day. Instead, read something nice and calming or listen to some relaxing music. Also, make the room dark as you are going to sleep. Any amount of light can interfere with sleep.</p>
<p>These three simple things will help improve your energy, increase your focus and mental clarity and get better sleep. And the good news is that these techniques are free or very low cost. But they will give you a lot of benefit as you age.</p>
